Hello there again! What's this? Another entry so soon? I must really be getting into the swing of this thing finally. I can't wait to do more posts soon. So this is a slightly different post to normal. I have to show you all these amazing things I have found. Now if you know me personally, you will know that last year I went to Paris for the first time with one of my best friend's and my other half. We had an awesome time! I loved it! And on my way back I finally plucked up the courage to try and Macaron. I know... Crazy. 25 years (at the time) and I had never in my life had one. So being the adventurous person I was, I went and picked one of each flavour that I knew I would like. And the amazing thing? I loved them! I discovered that I LOVED macarons!

Look how precious these are? Anyway, so recently I have found a little stall sort of place in a shopping centre near me, that does Macarons and Meringues in all sorts of flavours. I had to get some! Also with it being Summer still, I thought I would spend just that little bit extra and get the macaron's from M&S too, to see how they compared. And if they are worth the price.

The funny thing about the ones from M&S, you only get 3 in a pack. They are about £4 I think? And they are tiny compared to proper Macarons. They are also mis-sold as Macaroons. What is the difference you ask? Well if you are unsure as to the difference between the Macaron, and the Macaroon, I shall hopefully help. A Macaron (which is french) is a meringue type cookie with a filling of cream, ganache or curd. A Macaroon is a coconut or almond type of small circular cake.
I had to research this when I first found the mistake by M&S because the small stall called them Macarons, and also in Paris that was the spelling. Yet I have seen other places call them Macaroons, which are a different thing.

Anyway, look just at how colourful they are! <3 The three in the middle are the M&S ones compared to the stall. The colours are so vibrant and I love how cute they look. I asked the lady for one of each flavour and in total the 12 Macarons came to £11.50. Expensive, but at just under £1 each, it was totally worth it... Except the Rose flavoured one... That was a mistake. All the flavours were great. And I loved each of them. There were a couple I was unsure about, but they all tasted pretty much the same. But for the price that M&S are selling them for... I understand they need to make a profit, but the size of them... They are 3/4s the size of a normal sized one. Which is a shame. I hope to one day maybe see if I can make some myself. They are just so cute and colourful! I also have many food colours I can colour them as, so that would be pretty cool to try. So thanks for reading, and see you next time! JJ
