Suncream or Foundation?

I finally run out of BareMinerals Foundation, and as an alternative I decided to try out the Makeup Revolution Ultra Face Base Foundation. Now since trying the other Makeup Revolution products are finding how fantastic they are for being dupes, I figured that this would be a fantastic product too. I have rather pale skin so I went for the shade FB02. It's a more pink toned foundation, compared to yellow, so if you have a pink undertone that is pale it would work really well.
After ordering from the website, it arrived and I was excited to use it when I had no other foundation.

Upon first arrival it came in this little packaging. Very similar to the primer, I had to double check which tube I picked up from my makeup bag.
I opened the foundation and I thought, great colour and it should work very well. Upon the application onto my foundation brush, and after applying my primer I noticed that this was not quite what I expected. Unlike my previous foundation from BareMinerals I felt that this was much thicker. The texture was that similar to a suncream you get from boots or the supermarket.

Here is the picture of the right half my face with the foundation blended and applied. As you can see the pigment works quite well on my face, and after blending with my sponge I got the texture to lighten up. You need a little more than normal for this when using it, because of how thick it is. You want to have enough to cover your face, and in order to do that, you use more.

Here is an image with the other half with it just applied, before blending. Not sure if you can see just how "cloggy" it is. But this is after using my brush to apply it. It is rather shiny, because it hasn't been blended, compared to the right side, which is more of a matte finish. Again I had to use a little more than planned to get it to cover the other half of my face.

This image is with all of it fully blended together ready for the rest of the makeup stages to be applied. The issue I have with this is that it feels like you're wearing foundation (Or suncream.) and after opening and leaving it for a couple of days before making this post, I have found that the tube it is in, is not a very useful one. I'm not sure if it's because it has been warm, or just because of the design, however I have noticed that the foundation has leaked out of the nozzle, and into the cap. Thankfully the cap is rather secure, however if it does this constantly, and you are unable to get into the gaps and grooves of the lid itself, you are going to be wasting the foundation. Which unfortunately is not a great design. It was a rather cheap foundation being only £3, however I could only find it online due to only have a small Superdrug near me. It isn't that bad of a product, but when you feel like you have makeup on your face, and you're used to having it feel like nothing is on your face, it doesn't make you feel like it works as well. Also it makes your face feel heavy, which isn't a nice feeling at all. Pros: It was only £3, so it was super super cheap! They have a wide range of colours, including lighter tones which is great. It's easy to apply. It does seem to last a long time on my face, however if you are warm, or in the sun a lot, I think it might not last as long as the cooler days. Cons: Very Very Thick! Thick like suncream, which doesn't make it feel good on your skin. The tube doesn't hold it well, so it leaks into the cap, which means that you can be wasting the foundation. Which isn't so good if you have to spend more money for it not to last. You have to use more of it to actually cover your face because of the thickness.
It doesn't have enough shades for darker skin. (I am not an expert on this, so I apologise if there is more shades than I can see). I could only find it online in the shade I wanted, not so much in stores (even when I visited other stores in London, Cambridge etc). So in general, as much as I like that I have found something that will last on my face, I feel that it just doesn't work for me. Even though I only spent £3 on it, I think will pay the extra to get a better one that shouldn't leak, and still has good pigmentation.
So here is another proper review I've done. Yay. See you again soon. JJ
