I thought I would maybe write about some podcasts I have listened to, as something that I can share with others. I only got into podcasts at the end of September 2019. It wasn't something I thought I would be interested in, however my opinion changed when I realised they were 1. Not all the same. 2. They are not just people talking about sports, news, politics or films. They can be so much more than that.
One of the very first podcasts I listened to was 'The Black Tapes'. I was very unsure what to expect, and after the first episodes I was hooked.

Synopsis: "The Black Tapes is a bi-weekly podcast from Pacific Northwest Stories and Minnow Beats Whale, and is hosted by Alex Reagan. The Black Tapes is a serialized docudrama about one journalist's search for truth, her enigmatic subject's mysterious past, and the literal and figurative ghosts that haunt them both.
How do you feel about paranormal activity or the Supernatural? Ghosts? Spirits? Demons?
Do you believe?"
A paranormal story, presented as a paranormal investigation, I originally thought it was real for the first few episodes, due to the way it was recorded and presented.
The story follows reporter Alex Reagan and her subject of investigation, the professor Richard Strand and his mysterious black tapes. The podcast was made up of 3 seasons, each running a length of 12 episodes and then 6 episodes for Season 3. I managed to listen to the whole podcast in a week.
Once I reached the episode Season 3 Episode 6, I was devastated. It ended on a cliffhanger, and all I had was questions. I looked on Wikipedia, Twitter, their website and Patreon to find any update for another season. Nothing. It seemed to just disappear halfway.
This was not what I wanted. It was a fun story with mystery, paranormal phenomenon, puzzles and a great storytelling aspect.
If you enjoy films like 'Paranormal Activity', 'The Conjuring', 'The Exorcist' or similar, I think you would love the podcast 'The Black Tapes'.
