Last night, I had the incredible pleasure of seeing another one of Jinkx Monsoon, and The Major Scales masterpieces.
Last year in 2017, I watched their show "The Vaudevillians" at The Junction in Cambridge. As this was one of my first drag shows at the time, I was not sure what to expect.
However as this is my second show, and another of Jinkx and The Major Scales, I knew this was going to be a blast.
I started my evening like most people, having a bubble waffle at Creams, whilst the rest of the audience were outside from around 6pm, in the blistering cold. I however was not that brave, and I did not want to wait around in the cold for 1 hour and 30 minutes. So after it got to about 7:20pm, me and my pals, decided to join the crowd.
It wasn't a big line, just a reasonable one, so we didn't mind waiting in the cold for that bit extra. We were let in 10 minutes late, but Jinkx Monsoon had been ill recently, and we had been advised earlier in the day the doors were going to open later, we were ok with it.
Once we managed to get in, we moved over to find our seats, and similar to previously, we ended up in the third row. This meant we had a great view of the show, and close enough to seeing the action.
Whilst people were grabbing their drinks and merch, I sat there waiting patiently for the show to begin. My other half, did pick up a very fetching blue/teal vest top with Jinx's face on it. Perfect for me.

The lighting and the set was really cool, and throughout the whole performance the lighting, and the sound crew did a great job.
The Major Scales appeared on the stage, in his "Doctor" outfit, setting the stage up ready for Jinkx to make her entrance. A few jokes here and there, and then finally music started up, and Jinkx started the show.
There was great on the spot improvisation, jokes about Cambridge, the UK, and even blips that may have accidentally happened in the show (creating new words?) which just made this even more hilarious and enjoyable.
I don't want to spoil the whole performance, so all I'm going to say is see it!
I think this show was a great little look into mental health, and how people can look to substances for relief, feeling like you're alone, depression, and comparing yourself to others.
It was something that I could really relate to.
If you liked their previous show, The Vaudevillians, or enjoy Jinkx Monsoon, and The Major Scales, definitely go to see this!
My throat and hands definitely felt a little sore the next day from the screaming, applauding and just appreciation of this amazing performance.
Let's hope they keep coming to Cambridge and sharing their genius with the rest of us.
